Okay, okay - here's Russell #5 (from my 34 week ultrasound) This should be pretty clear to most of you. This little one is looking right at you! :) Amazing, isn't it????

Chunky after his first "ick" which is Charlie speak for popsicle. For example "Ick Gee!" translated "Popsicle Marc!" 

Just wanted to share something I read the other night.......

I'd rather see a sermon, than hear one any day.
I'd rather one would walk with me - than merely show the way.
The eye's a better pupil - more willing than the ear,
Fine counsel is confusing, but example's always clear.
And the best of all the people are the ones who live their creed,
For to see the good in action is what everybody needs.
I can soon learn how to do it if you'll let me see it done.
I can watch your hands in action, but your tongue too fast may run,
The lectures you deliver may be very wise and true --
But I'd rather get my lesson by observing what you do.
For I may misunderstand you, and the high advice you give,
But there's no misunderstanding how you act and how you live.

This poem is attributed to someone named Edgar Guest & I don't know if he is/was a Christian man, but as words of encouragement to a busy mom - he sure hit the nail on the head. Following this poem was written: "Our examples should be like a beacon of light, leading our kids down the road of godly living. Jesus tells us, "In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16) As our lights shine for Christ, may our children see our good deeds and praise the Lord - with their words and with their lives.

It's so much easier during these busy days to TELL my kids what they should be doing, but this reminded me that I need to be willing to slow down & SHOW them what to do & sometimes even how to do it. Isn't that what Christ did for us??

HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY TO CHARLIE!!!! This was from our photo session back in August & you're supposed to be able to see the "2" on the block he's sitting on, BUT he wasn't cooperating w/that part very well. We love you Charlie!!! :) 

Norm sent me this picture this afternoon. I knew I had to blog it, but I have no idea how to write a caption for it........so I won't even try. We'll just call it "Helping the Homeless". 

And Joey tries & tries & tries again - to no avail. Keep tryin' Joe - you'll figure it out!

Charlie split his time between riding his little fire truck (and hiding his corn on the cob inside the seat ---- ewwww!!!) and........ 

Andrew had fun practicing tricks on his new skateboard --- which he saved up for & bought yesterday morning! Now he says he's gonna be in the X Games someday! :) 

Norm & Marc engaged in some serious Corn Hole! Norm DID hold the "Undefeated" title in the family until last night when Marc FINALLY beat him!!!! Way to go Marc!!! 

A few pics from our relaxing Labor Day evening........it was the most beautiful day we've had amidst LOTS of rain. I particularly enjoyed the cooler temps in the evening! :) Anyway, Joey decided that he HAD to learn how to climb the tree last night, but he insisted on having Andrew help him get up there! Aren't ya supposed to "climb"????
